"The best way out is always through."
Robert Frost
You many be feeling stuck, overwhelmed or noticing patterns in your life and relationships that are difficult to change. It may be that ways of coping that once helped are now holding you back.
I offer a space where we can begin to make sense of what's going on for you and find a way forward. I believe that with the right support, change is possible and things can be different.
I work with individuals and couples, both online and face to face, supporting people with anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship issues and trauma.
As a fully qualified and experienced therapist I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I work in line with their ethical framework.

People come to me for help with a wide variety of problems. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through counselling and therapy:
Feelings of stress or anxiety
Relationship problems
Bereavement, grief and loss
Trauma and post-traumatic stress
Loneliness
Abuse
Depression
Problems with confidence or self-esteem
Anger management
Issues relating to sexuality
Difficulties at work or in retirement
Problems with family or school life
Before becoming a counsellor I ran my own business for many years. I have also been involved stand-up comedy, performance poetry, acting and education. These experiences have given me the opportunity to connect with a wide range of people and perspectives.
My own experience of counselling led me to train as a therapist. Having grown up in a working-class environment where emotions were not always openly expressed, I understand how difficult it can be to access and talk about feelings- and how powerful it can be when you so.
Often, the patterns that once helped us to cope can begin to limit us. Together, we can explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion, understanding the role they've played and gently loosening their grip in the present.
I am an integrative counsellor, which means I adapt how I work to suit you as an individual. Some sessions may focus on giving you space to talk openly, while others may involve exploring thoughts, feelings or relationship patterns in more depth.
I aim to offer a warm, grounded, non-judgemental space where you can be yourself and work at a pace that feels right for you.

Counselling can help with issues around, family, stress, relationships, work, social concerns, anxiety, loss, bereavement, loneliness and depression.
Life brings many challenges, and it is understandable that at times we might look for support in facing them. As a counsellor my role is to provide a space to enable you to examine your life and make new, meaningful choices
within it.
I understand that it can be difficult to find someone to open up to but I will be alongside you and support you with whatever it is that is troubling you.
I see people face to face or online, or if you prefer I offer telephone counselling.
In-person sessions are held in comfortable rooms in Lewes and Brighton . Online sessions are via Zoom and Teams.
If you'd like to discuss which option might be best for you, please get in touch.
Counselling sessions last 50 minutes, usually taking place on a weekly basis, and cost £65 per individual session and £95 per couple. I also provide a limited number of spaces for those on low income or for students; contact me to enquire about availability.
Note that if you want to cancel an appointment I require 48 hours’ notice; otherwise you will still need to pay for any sessions missed. I accept payment in cash, card or by bank transfer.
